Another Closing, Another Show…

The 2009 Fall EATfest is over.

Bob the bisexual bedbug and No. 12 the Gaylien have been put to bed – forever. I enjoy performing. I enjoy acting because it allows me to be someone I’m not, and no matter the freak I’m playing, their life always seems a little bit better than mine…

The Emerging Artists Theatre Company, one of the theatre companies I work with here in the city is a great theatre company with which to work – it’s because of them my name is listed in a published play as part of the “Original Cast” – At this year’s Fall EATfest, I was in two short plays, with two great directors and two great casts to play with.

On a side note: I really didn’t know how hard it would be to do two short plays at the same time, I was feeling quite schizophrenic, to say the least…

But now, a week after the last show went down and all the costumes were put away, I find myself really missing it.

Now, come on, I know I wasn’t doing Mamet or Chekhov, but to be involved in even a short play with like minded actors is really what it’s all about, right?

Auditions for the 2010 Spring EATfest are coming up and I’m hoping to actually play a real live person, not a freaky, absurd character, we’ll see, who know if I even have a real live person inside me…
