My Garden – Puttin’ it Back Together…

I tried to clean up my garden as well as I could.

But as my brilliant niece pointed out it is Fall.

I didn’t expect it to last for ever and add to the fact I really didn’t give it any attention all month and the barrel it self actually fell apart and now is missing a bunch of slats that I think next year I may have to get some other container to cultivate.

I found these lovely purple flowers today:

I hadn’t noticed them before, they are so tiny…

Next year, I planting Basil Oregano and Parsley – I want fresh herbs.

The barrel is absolutely dripping with flowers, but I gotta tell you, if I don’t water this baby every day it droops like a pair of 95 year old boobs…

I took some close-up shots that I posted here – enjoy!

May Garden – Week Five

100_2374

Wow! A lot of growth between week four and week five! I still have that nasty bald spot due to the squirrels – I even caught one there this morning, I dug out his nuts and threw them in the street!

They still look like weeds to me, but in a few more weeks I expect to be able to pick a lovely bouquet of wild flowers that I can then weave intoa headdress and wear around the house…

Moving along at a nice pace – the problem, aside from the squirrel issue, I have no idea if what growing is going to tuurn into flowers or weeds…at this point, it all looks the same!

My Garden – Week Three

All the rain is helping my garden grow quickly. Just three weeks on and we’re showing a nice even growth throughout the entire garden.

I wonder what they will bloom into?

There are so many tiny green sprouts. I wonder what they’ll turn into? Still having some squirll isues – the little puffy-tailed rats!

Hard to see from this far away, but there are some sprouts sprouting! See below for a close-up – my guess, 6-8 weeks ’til blooming! I’m sure all the rain this week as been a big help. There was a little animal vandalism, the squirrels love using my garden as a nut hiding-place…

My Garden Mondays

Monday, April 27th, 2009

As Spring is finally springing, I’ve decided to tend to my garden again. This year, I bought this roll-out garden that within 20-30 days should produce a bucket full of wildflowers!

Of course, there are rules – it must never be dry! and since I don’t have a hose or even an outdoor water spigot , it’s all about lugging buckets and buckets of water from the kitchen sink – I need to invest in a watering can…

Once a week, on Monday, I’ll be sharing it’s growth progress

Day One

Good Deed Of The Day

Friday, April 24th, 2009

I was enjoying the Spring weather outside – pulling weeds and sweeping up the front, it may not be my property, but that doesn’t mean I can’t help with it’s upkeep, I do have to look at it everyday after all – when I looked next door and saw that my neighbors’ flowers were looking a bit raggedy…I should’ve taken a picture of the "before" – I decided to clean it up as well.

Here’s the after:

 flowers

All the pretty purple flowers were overgrown at the far end, looking as if they needed a little breathing room; the entire run was full of dead plants and weeds. I’ve known my next door neighbors for 14 years, the parents moved away a few years ago, leaving the son alone and he really doesn’t take care of the property like they did – I figured he could use a helping hand…plus I got 4 activity points out of it!

My “Garden” – Day 8

Friday, May 11th, 2007

This is probably the last picture of my "garden" that y’all’re gonna see until I get back from shooting 5 Takes.

The Wave put the OOHH in Petunia

Speaking of 5  Takes, I just got really cool news today that I don’t think I can share with you just yet, and until I’m in Latinoamerica, I ain’t doin’ nothin’ that could possibly screw that up.
