  • hold the handrails
  • don’t run
  • stay away from the sides
  • be aware of loose clothing
  • hold your kids

How stupid and litigious are we getting as a society that a sign like this is even necessary?

ANd for that matter, why tell people to stand in the center? It’s Stand Right/Walk Left!

I know it’s not Phriday, but this photo was taken on Phriday, Christmas Day-2009, it sorta symbolizes my holiday… when I got to my partents house, they weren’t home… Merry Christmas indeed…

Photo Phriday – Christmas Joey

There’s nothing inherently Christmas about this picture of Joey, except it was taken on Christmas morning… I tried to get a bow around his neck, but he wasn’t havin’ it!

Photo Phriday – Phavorite Christmas Tree Ornament

After seeing Kathy K’s phavorite Christmas Tree ornament, I thought I’d search my tree for my phavorite:

It took no time at all, seeing that I’d clustered all my favs right at the top at my perfect eye-level.

I find it really funny that both Kathy and my phavorites are rodents… Gus and Sam the mice from Cinderella were a McDonald’s Happy Meal Give-away a million years ago – i tried to find out when they were actually released, but, alas, to no a avail. If you know anything about them, gentle reader, please pass on the info.

Also take a look at that great little drum. I have two of them. My mother got them for me when I was very young, they’ve been hanging on the tree since I can remember. About ten years ago, my mother surprised me with a box of my childhood orniments and these are the ones that bring me back the moment I see them.

You’ll notice the small crystal star – dead center, it’s hard to see – itt was given to me by a dear friend almost twenty years ago – it was supposed to symbolize that one day I’d be a star…

Photo Phriday – Christmas Tree

I was going to get a live tree again this year – one of the perks of working at the Duplex is that when the Canadians come down to sell their trees, the owners allow them to leach off the electricity, use the bathroom and such and in return they give all the employees a free tree or wreathe.

I took them up on their offer last year and got a great little tree, but this year I decided to go back to fake…

I found this tree at the dollar store around the corner from my apartment – it was only $10.00. I know it doesn’t look like much, but I had an idea…

I figured since the tree was so inexpensive that I would do something I’ve always wanted to do – I would shape it into a layered topiary tree. I spent a total of $2.00 on the four, 100 light sets at an after-Christmas sale last year…

I’ve always wanted to do a tree like this, but never had the guts – I’m a firm believer in jamming the tree with as many ornaments as one possibly can, and while I still want to get a few more  on, I give you – Vinnie’s Christmas Tree 2009:
